Trudeau vs Carney’s Priorities
Using the number of new policies commitments found in their most recent Throne Speeches, we can assess government’s changes in the scale of sector policy focuses. Below we can see the largest change in approach are in Economy, Fiscal Responsibility, and Indigenous and First Nations policies.
It is important to note that this chart only shows the volume of policies, not their scale. For example although Carney committed to less Indigenous and First Nations one of them constitutes a $5 Billion increase in the Loan Guarantee Program.
